About: My name is Chris Leeds and Northeast Digital Photo is my business. I'm using this section of my web to describe the who, what, where, when, why, and how of myself and my services. I'm hoping to add a Blog to the system at some time in the future as my time allows. You may find sections of this site empty. You may find examples in
my portfolio empty as well. If you can't find information or an example you're looking for just contact me and I'll help you personally.
I've always found it spurious when people refer to "we" and "us" when describing their business on the web or in print. Usually it's only "them" in the singular sense.
I originally got into web development and visual presentation because of photography. It seemed that almost everyone I shot pictures for had some problem with their site or needed a referral for someone who could put their pictures to good use. After seeing this pattern and agreeing to help on a couple of projects I was totally hooked. I love web development and presentation as much as I do photography and graphics. Despite spending years developing my graphics and internet skill set the most important things I've learned and the skills that benefit my customers most are the things I learned a very long time ago. Right out of high school I joined a local car dealership as a salesman. I got some great training and was moved to the used car department. I spent about five years in the business and learned lots about sales and the way people think and what makes them buy or leave. After this I spent some time selling advertising for a small company where I learned how small businesses work and operate. I didn't believe in the advertising and didn't spend too long selling it but I did pick up some good experiences. After the advertising I spent about five years working as a care taker for mentally retarded adults. This, oddly, was where I learned the most important skills: patience, empathy, and an ability to listen on an enhanced level. Add to all the above the thousands of hours I've spent with the cameras and computers and you'll agree that I've got an ability to understand what you want and need and the insight to make it all work. Feel free to contact me anytime regarding a project you may be thinking of. I love anything that has to do with visual presentation. As the company name implies I do a lot of digital photography but I also do all sorts of other visual work. I do graphics and logos for other web masters as well as for my customers. I do lots of retail photography and image manipulation. By this I mean shooting, editing, and enhancing people's family photos. I do commercial photography from quick cheap product shots to very time consuming "national magazine" level commercial photos. I design websites from scratch including all the graphics and other visual elements. I've got some program models for car dealers, real-estate brokers, and internet merchants. These are database driven applications that usually run by VBScript/ ASP and MS Access. While I prefer that combination I also have done work with PEARL/ CGI scripts and also a little PHP. In order to keep my customers sites up and running I provide hosting for them. I support all my customers 100% in their endeavors. I'm available all the time and provide support by email, instant messaging, and toll free telephone. I even help people who aren't customers at all. I contribute as
I've got domain names, secure server certificates (SSL), and other technical stuff for the best prices on the web PERIOD. I do some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and submission.
